Eligibility Criteria

The DAAD scholarship requires certain criteria to be eligible. 

  • You must be proficient in either English or German. Ensure you take the language proficiency tests e.g. IELTS or TOEFL for English or DSH or TestDaF for German. English is the preferred language for international programs while German is preferred for other programs. 
  • Candidates must have completed an undergraduate course or obtained a Masterโ€™s degree in a chosen field.
  • The scholarship prefers candidates who are development-motivated and possess problem-solving and adaptability skills. 
  • The ideal candidate must have at least two years of professional experience. 

Required Documents 

The following documents are required for a successful application for the DAAD Scholarship:

  • Copies of academic degrees and transcripts. If the application is not English or German, translate it into the required languages. 
  • Proof of Language skills. Either TOEFL or IELTS is accepted for English. German is required for courses taught in German. 
  • Certificate(s) of employment from employer to validate your years of experience.
  • Letter of recommendation from your current employer. The letter must have a letterhead, signature and an official stamp for validity.
  • Personally endorsed a letter of motivation. This is to demonstrate your intent to seek the application.
  • A well-structured CV, highlighting the experiences and skills.

How to Apply

The DAAD offers multiple chances to apply for its scholarship. You can apply for more than one program (A maximum of three courses).

  • Choose the right courses from the list of programs that interest you. Research the programs and how they align with your professional journey.
  • Apply to the universities that offer the courses of interest. Make a checklist of the required documents and upload them.
  • A selection committee suggest potentially qualified candidates for a DAAD scholarship. The recommended candidates will get an email with the official DAAD portal to complete their application.
