"PVCS ARE NOT FOR SALE", REC ADVISES CITIZENS

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), INEC Cross River Prof Gabriel O. Yomere has advised Cross Riverians to keep their Permanent Voters Cards(PVCs) safe and not sell them because that is the only instrument still permitted by law to be used for voting in the country.

Speaking to journalists at the 2023 carnival Calabar 3rd dry run, the REC represented by the Administrative Secretary (ADSEC), Mr. Eldred O. Davis said that for anybody to vote during election whether general elections, bye election, re-run or supplementary election, he or she must be a registered voter with a PVC. He said that this is in line with the Commission's position that no PVC, no voting and in compliance with section 47 (I) of the Electoral Act 2022.
