Clove is derived from latin word _clauvus_, meaning nail because it's dried head resembles nail. Cloves are dried flower buds from a clove tree native to India.

People used cloves in food and medicinal purposes for a long time until recently scientist made a research and found that it has abundance health benefits resulting from its contents such as vitamin k, potassium, Beta carotene and eugenol. The antioxidants in cloves slow the growth of cancer cells.
